Could there be anything more fun than being (almost) 3 and getting to go to a Cinderella tea party - especially when you have the perfect dress to wear? Maryn and I got to have a very special tea party with Cinderella and approximately 120 other of Cinderella's closest friends. Maryn made her very own Cinderella hat and we got to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming.
I love fall days like the days we've had this week. It has been really beautiful and Mark and Maryn took advantage of the weather and got some raking done this afternoon. Maryn didn't exactly help but did what kids are supposed to do when they see a big pile of leaves!
It got cold quickly and trick or treating was not a marathon event. Mark took the girls out and Nevaeh (who insisted she didn't need a coat) was freezing and ready to throw in the towel much sooner than she had last year. Here are the girls with great friends, Jayden and Reece.
The girls were very excited about Halloween and were ready to go trick-or-treating at about 2pm today. I was determined to get pictures of the girls in their Halloween attire and we invited a few of Nevaeh's friends over to take advantage of the big set up. Nothing ever goes quite according to plan and needless to say we had a bit of chaos but we got a great pictures of all the little Queen's, fairies, princess, cat and Iron Man. I did learn an important lesson about face painting... which is you really need a plan before you start. We had three versions of Neaveh's cat face and by trick or treat time we finally found something that didn't resemble an alley cat. The girls are out now, while I'm handing out candy. The evening will conclude with a party at our neighbors house and little girls all hopped up on sugar. Could life get any better?
Today was the big Halloween party at Nevaeh's school. They got to change into their costumes and all the parents were invited to attend. Some very special parents got to help... Mark was asked to play the part of the fortune teller. He did not disappoint, in fact I would dare say he was the party highlight. One of the Mom's brought a big spooky blow up house and Mark sat inside and a group of 5 kids at a time got to come in and ask Mark questions. My favorite question was, "When I grow up, will like spices?". I've asked Mark to write later about some of the highlights. Nevaeh was very proud to have her Dad as "Mysterio".
I take a lot of pictures of the girls and am always trying to improve my photography. I was playing with my lighting and getting ready to photograph another family and asked the girls to be my helpers and got them in their natural element - the way they are most of the time. This picture also highlights Nevaeh missing one of her front teeth.
